Babies, Birthdays, and Birds

We had a busy week.  Elizabeth and I were delighted to attend a baby tea for a sweet homeschool mom.  It was especially fun that she and I went together.  At first I was nervous about bringing her because she is only 3 after all.  I shouldn't have been because every mom there brought their daughters.  It was so sweet to see all the little girls dressed up playing tea.  We had a wonderful time of fellowship with some of the dearest people.  Elizabeth has been talking about it all week.  The baby's name is Marigold so this was her baby cake.  Isn't it beautiful!
We also celebrated my birthday.  Several family members visited, Gregory grilled out and we spent the day fellowshipping with each other.
The children got me this beautiful bird bath and flowers.  Then, they helped me plant them.  We are still waiting to see birds find the birdbath, but Timothy has been diligently putting out food for them.  I am confident they will find it soon.
Matthew has learned the sign language for bird (see below for how to sign bird).  I love seeing him sign it because when he does the sign he signs it backwards facing the bird beak towards him.  Whenever he hears a bird he will stop, and look around trying to locate it.  I love teaching my babies sign language because now I can understand him trying to communicate what he is looking for.

James found this little fellow while playing around outside and carried it around on his shoulder for awhile.  I was slightly concerned that he was going to forget him and bring him in the house.  If you hear me scream while doing laundry you will know why.
.
Timothy had his final session of speech this week.  He was having trouble pronouncing his th sounds and s blends particularly in the middle of a word.  He is doing fantastic now!
Every six months Elizabeth has a follow-up eye appointment with a specialist so we did that as well.  Thankfully, her eyes are doing well and she does not need glasses.  My Mom spent the week with us this past week.  We had fun talking to her and the children played lots of games.  I enjoyed a break from laundry duties since she decided to help me with that this week.
Today, we are just staying home and playing since we have a busy week next week as well.  How was your week?
