There were two big accomplishments this week in Math. James mastered multiplication facts on xtramath.com which means he can do all of his multiplication facts in less than 3 seconds. He is excited about moving on to Division. Caleb finished his first math book, Primer in Math U See.
Timothy continued working on his schoolwork. One of their favorite activities right now is typing on Dance Mat Typing. Its an extracurricular activity they are allowed to do when other schoolwork has been completed.
The turtles officially bring in the spring around here. We must be a traveling path for them because we will find several a day for about a month and then they are gone. This week the boys found three in one day so we took the opportunity to study them and draw them in our nature journals. We always let them go at the end of the day they are found, but the children sure do enjoy having them when they are here.Matthew decided he should be learning his letters now. He got into his sibling's colored pencils and found the letter he wanted to learn to write.
As you can see he was quite proud of himself.
We made play dough. I learned that play dough made with cream of tarter is so much more pliable than play dough made without it. Fortunately, since I ran out of cream of tarter the children weren't picky and gladly played with any play dough that was made.
We did laundry. With 5 children its a common occurrence, but this little guy was so cute I just had to snap his picture helping me. Are my children the only ones who come running when they hear the water filling the washing machine?
We squeezed in a bit of Lego city too. The boys favorite way to play Legos is to dominate the entire living room. We have to gate off the living room because youngest brother wants to join in the fun too.
How was your week? Did you choose to relish the everyday ordinary like I did?
