Favorite Summer Moments

Can you believe summer is coming to an end? It is still super hot here, but schools are in full swing. We have had 2 full weeks of school in our home already. I have really been trying to hit it hard these first few weeks so that when the urge to loosen the reins comes in the holiday season I don't need to feel bad that we haven't covered enough material.

I thought it would be fun to recap some of our favorite moments from this summer. Most of the moments that end up being our favorites are times we have spent with other people. Such is the case with all three of these photos.

We spent a part of a day at a local lake fishing and swimming with my Dad. James especially is extremely interested in fish and loves to go fishing. So, this was a real highlight for him. (He must have gotten that love from my dad. I have many childhood memories of time spent in a boat on a lake.)

The rest of us non-fishing lovers went and sat in the lake and enjoyed the coolness of the water. Then we all went swimming together. Ahh nothing like cool water on a hot summer day!

While having a cookout at the start of the summer, all three of my boys learned to ride their bicycles under the tutelage of Gregory and his Dad. Caleb learned how to move the pedals on his bicycle while the other two learned to ride without any training wheels. It has provided hours of fun for them. In particular, Timothy who is sure to get a ride in several times a day. While the boys were practicing bicycle riding, Elizabeth was learning to walk. In the middle of the summer, we were able to visit the beach with Gregory's family. While at the beach, our family enjoyed snorkling, dolphin watching, seashell looking, fireworks and swimming. Watching Elizabeth walking on the beach was an especially fun treat. Isn't she adorable?
