Our Quest for a Healthier Lifestyle

I baked my first no sugar banana bread today. It obviously doesn't have the sweet taste of one that has white sugar in it, but James and I think it is very good. I got the recipe from Sue Gregg's Lunches and Snacks Cookbook. Instead of being sweetened with white sugar it is sweetened with honey.

Baking this bread came about out of my desire to serve better food for my family. The first step I am taking is to cut out the white sugar and processed flours that I have been using.

My journey began by reading Nourishing Traditions. I quickly became quite overwhelmed and put that book aside. There seemed to be too many changes needed. Fast forward six months. I began to read about Sue Gregg's cookbooks. I bought two of them and downloaded some free recipes off of her website. She suggests to take things slowly when you are making dietary changes. So far, I am really enjoying reading through her material. She explains things in an easy to read format. She encourages cooking with your children. I think with Sue's help we are headed in the right direction.
