In choosing our curriculum choices I keep in mind our teaching style. Charlotte Mason believed in short lessons. She taught with living books not dry factual textbooks. Living books are usually written in a conversational tone by one person who is passionate about his subject. In history instead of just memorizing dates we try to make connections with events and people by reading about them. These are things I keep in mind as I choose which curriculum we will be using each year.
We have three children that are officially schooling this year. To make things manageable for myself I combine them in as many subjects as possible.
Family subjects:
Curriculum - Simply Charlotte Mason Matthew Through Acts Study
The Story of the Romans by Guerber
Bible - We are reading Matthew through Acts
History - Ancient Rome

Nature study with our nature notebooks, several living books selected
Literature Read aloud - Five Little Peppers and How they Grew, Little Lord Fauntleroy, At back of the North Wind, Chronicles of Narnia
