Caleb will be Kindergarten this year and couldn't be more excited to begin with an official Math program. He was literally jumping up and down asking when he could open his new Math book. In reality I think he will fly through the beginning of this book as he has been counting for awhile, but we are laying the foundation.
Here is his Math in action. Timothy is finishing double digit addition from last year. We stopped and reviewed math facts for awhile. James is working on double digit multiplication.
We love our flashmaster. It is our electronic version of flash cards We will conquer math facts!!
At the beginning of the school year I like to measure to see the children's growth. Here is our measuring wall. All of the boys grew around 2 inches each, but Elizabeth has been eating her spinach and grew 4 1/2 inches.
For our Language Arts this week I had the children doing an about me lapbook. We also read several books and began our study of Matthew Through Acts and Ancient Rome. We have some exciting things planned for this year and are looking forward to sharing it with you!
"My son, if you will receive my words And treasure my commandments within you, Make your ear attentive to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding; For if you cry for discernment, Lift your voice for understanding; If you seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will discern the fear of the Lord And discover the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:1-6 Sharing with The Modest Mom
