Birthday Time!!

Did I mention it has been a busy month? The next significant event that happened this month was Caleb's fourth birthday. We enjoyed a quiet celebration at home for this event. I made a chocolate cake per his request and we took him out to eat fried rice. Aunt Sheri sent some iced sugar cookies with his name on them. Aunt Leigh Anne was able to come visit for the night as well. She brought with her a worm farm with the worms to add to it. This was a perfect gift for him because Caleb loves to dig outside. Whenever he digs up a worm he talks about how cute it is and he always wants to keep it for a pet. He doesn't want it to stay in the dirt though he wants to be able to see it. I think this is one of the special reasons God gave us children. I personally would never have thought of a worm as being cute and pet-like, but my precious son sees beauty in a simple little worm that God made. I just love that! So, our cute little worms are now sitting on our piano and the boys check on them often. Just today they were so excited because the worms have now dug a tunnel. A few months ago we found a battery operated ride -on toy on clearance for 1/4th of the normal price. I was so excited because the boys have asked for one in the past. This one is of the weight limit that all the boys could ride (individually of course). He also received some outdoor safari stuff. All three of the boys have been catching butterflies daily ever since then. So much fun and it has added to our nature study! I'm sneaky about adding in that learning. ;) Not to mention the wonderful exercise they have been having running after the butterflies. He feels so big being 4 now. I think he really did grow taller overnight!
