In year's past we have done many things in celebration of a New Year. Probably the boy's favorite had to have been the time they stayed up nearly all night playing Lego's with Gregory. This New Year's Eve Aunt Leigh Anne was here to celebrate with us. Gregory cooked us all a special meal of Steak, baked potatoes, green beans, salad and Texas Toast. It was delicious and we were all stuffed. No need for snacks here. Then, all the older than 3 crowd played board games until about 10 pm. They are hooked on Settlers of Catan.
We laid out plenty of blankets and pillows on the floor and watched It's a Wonderful Life. I thought a few of them might actually fall asleep before midnight, but at 11:45 they were all hanging in there. So, we all trooped to the kitchen to have a glass of juice to ring in the New Year.
Happy New Year ~ 2013!!
On New Year's Day we spent more time playing board games. I told you they are obsessed with Settlers of Catan! Elizabeth especially enjoyed winning Candyland against Gregory and Aunt Leigh Anne. They did deviate from Catan for a time just for her.
We all made sure to eat our black eyed peas, but I forgot to have some cabbage. Oh well, good thing I don't believe in luck. :)
I pray you have a blessed 2013 whether you had cabbage and peas or no cabbage and peas. :)

Your New Year's Eve dinner sounds so good. I was like drooling as I was reading it...lol
We don't do peas or cabbage...Surprisingly enough I have never heard of it until about two years ago!
Blessings!
Thank you, yes it was delicious. Gregory knows how to grill a steak.
