There is a certain boy who has been wishing for a fish tank for many years now. He has had a long standing love of fish. It was probably his first word. If it wasn't, it should have been. He certainly has used the word most frequently.
A few years ago he had a Betta fish in a small bowl, but it died and we didn't replace it.
Betta Fish
Since he is now old enough to care for a fish on his own we were able to find him a 29 gallon tank and stand for an excellent deal on Craigslist. My helpers, aka..Aunt Sharon and Aunt Leigh were kind enough to help get the tank to us and install it. They also blessed us by spending plenty of elbow grease cleaning up all the supplies and caring for the fish until it could be brought to us. The excitement of seeing James get the fish was worth it.
Caleb particularly liked the rock that came with the tank. It reminds me of my brother because his family lives in the mountains where there are tons of these beautiful rocks.
Everyone got in on the fun of filling the tank with water. We had quite the assembly line going. "Many hands make light work."
Ahhh! He could just sit there all day!
Matthew enjoyed looking at the new fish as well.
Well, maybe he really just wanted to grab the rocks. Too bad little one not healthy for your digestion!
The tank had a few fish that had come with it some Neon Tetras and a Glo fish, but we wanted James to be able to choose a few of his very own fish as well. So, we went to our local PetSmart.
He chose an orange Glofish, an algea eater - Otocinclus , and an upside down catfish. He also got some nice coral for decoration.
He is thrilled beyond belief. This morning when he got up he spent nearly an hour just watching the fish. That's our boy!
