Here is my Third Grader this year.
My 2nd grader
My new-to-school preschooler. He is so eager to start. In reality he often sat in on our read alouds last year, but just as he was interested. Not in school, but just wanted to get in on the fun of picture taking. :)
The crew ready to begin!!
To commemorate our day, I put together a fun back to school booklet I got off of Enchanted Learning. The children recorded their name, date, age and things they enjoyed as well as a hand print and self - portrait. That covered language arts, spelling, art and handwriting for the day.
The M & M's were part of our "special" day. They got to munch on them throughout our lessons.
It was a pretty light school day as far as school work goes. For Math we just reviewed our flash master skills. Timothy is still in subtraction facts and James is working on Multiplication facts. The boys were very excited about beginning Spanish this year so I allowed them to do the first lesson in Rosetta Stone. We practiced violin, had quiet reading time (nap time for under 5) and outdoor playtime.
It turned out to be a wonderful first day of school and we have now had our official kick off! The rest of this week our real school schedule will begin as violin lessons begin and sports.
