The One in Which Gregory Got Hurt

Gregory is an excellent father. He is very good about playing with the boys. He has recently had long hours at work and as a result has been unable to spend much time at home. Needless to say we were all looking forward to our 3 day weekend of family time.

The Saturday morning before Labor day we all got up and visited the local farmer's market. The children and I have been several times, but they wanted Gregory to see it. James was especially excited because his violin teacher was playing that day.

After we came home and had lunch all the guys tromped outside to play War. Apparently Daddy is the President and gives the orders, but he was also fighting in the war this day. While running from one of the enemy he stepped in a drainage hole and fell. Turns out he twisted his knee and broke his fibula bone in his ankle. He is now wearing a boot and struggling to get around on crutches. He will be attending physical therapy 3 times a week for awhile to get back on his feet.

I believe this is the first time we have had a man down in battle. In an effort to help their wounded, the boys are very eager to keep Daddy company while he is resting his ankle. He almost has 24 hour visitors. At least that little bit is a bright spot in his day because his ankle is causing great pain.
