Recent Cute Funnies

The boys found a frog outside last week. We love frogs around here and the baby ones are so cute! At the dinnertable Timothy solemenly informed us that a person should not put a frog into the playhouse mailbox because it will not stay in there. He then proudly announced that he had gotten it to stay in the bottom part of the house when he closed the door and he thought it might still be there.

Here is a recent conversation Timothy and I had while we were driving in the car.

Timothy: Mom, I don't understand why if the world is surrounded by lakes and the sun revolves around the earth, why doesn't the water just drip off the earth?

Me: Well, that is an excellent question that people did not understand for years until Scientist discovered the law of gravity. So I explained gravity to him.

Timothy: Well, what about if there was no gravity and a plant was in the ground? Would it float off into the air.

Me: I don't think so as long as the dirt wasn't in the air.

Timothy: What about a house? What if a car was in a garage in the house? Would it be floating?

Me: At this point I just had to concede that if the house was not floating in space then the car that was inside the garage wouldn't be either.

So, there is our science lesson for the day. :)
