Our Cabinet Project

I bought a cabinet inexpensively off of Craigslist last year. It was yellow and needed a new coat of paint to make it look decent. The paint had really worn down on some places and it looked dirty. Here it is soon after I bought it.

I decided to give it a crackle effect. So I painted the undercoat a gold metallic crackle paint.

For the top coat I chose this beautiful green. Then we picked out new handles. My sweet husband installed them this weekend. The holes on the handle ended up being a different size than the old ones and so it was a little more work than he had originally anticipated, but he got it to work. Here is our completed cabinet!

It was a fun experiment. The crackle doesn't show as much as I would have liked it to, but it is a nice effect. Very hard to see in pictures though.
