James' Thoughts on the New Baby

The boys were excited when we told them about the new baby. James especially was excited. James was very excited because he has been wanting a baby sister for a really long time.

Here is our conversation:

Me: "Why would you want a sister instead of a brother?"

James: "Well, I need a momma for my stuffed animals."

Me: "Well, Tippy is a girl." (our cat)

James: "Tippy is a cat! She can't be the momma."
Me: "Well, you know that girls like to play differently than boys do. They play things like dolls and tea parties."

James: Thinks for a minute about that. Then said, "Well, just because she plays that doesn't mean I have to. I think tea parties are kindof cool though. So I will play that with her."

Me: "Well, you know God might give us another boy."

James: "Yeah, that would be okay, but I have wanted a girl for our family for a really long time."

Yeah he told me he wanted a sister but never told me why. He is so adorable!! I asked Timothy what he wanted today and he said "a baby". I guess that's better than something else :)
