Some new favorites

While at a book fair we recently discovered some new favorite friends. We purchased some books from Lamplighter publishing. Lamplighter has some wonderful character building books. You can view them here: http://www.lamplighterpublishing.com/


Two of the ones we have enjoyed most recently are Trusty tried and true and The Squire and the Scroll.

Trusty is a reminiscent of The Little Engine that Could, but with Christianity placed in it. Trusty breaks down and needs help. Other trains come along, but are too filled with pride to stop and offer help. Finally Trusty comes and gladly offers help telling them that he had prayed that morning that he would be useful to someone that day.
The Squire and the Scroll is a tale of the Rewards of a Pure Heart. It is an adventure book about a young squire who has to go on a quest for the king to recover a Lantern that gives freedom to all the kingdom. The Squire had been taught by his parents from a scroll about how to guard his pure heart. He faces many dangerous temptations throughout his journey, but he faithfully follows the teachings of the scroll.
