This weekend we also had our Easter party with our homeschool group at a farm that is owned by a member of the group. It was such a perfect day for the activities. We ate hot dogs, fruit, chips and hunted eggs. The boys had a blast. This farm was a real farm with animals. The boys enjoyed petting the chickens, goat and trying to pet the ducks. There was also a fish pond which J.(5) especially loved. We are blessed to be a part of a friendly group of homeschoolers.
On Saturday we went to a church sponsored egg hunt. The boys got a large bag of candy from that one as well. More than the candy though they each received 2 cascarones. Until we lived in this city I had never heard of them, but this time of the year they are in every store and side business all over the city. A cascarone is an egg that has been hollowed out and then filled with confetti. Having a cascarone cracked over your head is said to bring good luck. The boys were eager to crack them. The little stinkers plotted who they were going to choose to crack them over. Guess who they picked!! A well-meaning friend showed up an hour ago and gave us yet another bag of these little eggs. If I know Daddy we have not seen the last of these little treats.
