Cutting with scissors is always a popular activity for the preschool crowd. Shortly after they can talk well my children begin asking me if they can cut. Elizabeth has hit that stage where it is pure joy just to be allowed to cut a piece of paper. I think one of the reasons we are allowed to experience these developmental stages with our children is so that we don't forget the joy that comes in simple little things like cutting paper, picking flowers and watching bees pollinate.
This was such a funny moment I had to capture it. She was sitting at the table cutting and having a blast. After every tiny cut of the paper she would stop and brush the paper (no matter how small) onto the floor. Paper cutting is serious business and has to be done just so.
Just so long as paper is the only thing she is cutting I don't mind the mess. Next time I should give her construction paper for her to make colored confetti to use at our next party. :)
